WERC
WERC introduced this course, for the first time, in the Eastern and North-Central Provinces of the country. Previously, it had been conducted only in Colombo. It was due to requests from residents in this area, together with Oxfam, that it was conducted in these areas.
However, due to the political and security situation in these areas, the progress of the course was affected because lecturers and students were unable to attend classes. There was also a delay in the delivery of assignments; only a few research papers were handed over on gender related topics.
